The coffee bar that is. Okay so maybe it’s more of a coffee house. When I saw this dress it reminded my of the 90’s. This was a time when I was hitting up the coffee houses all over my drinking a cappucino, and flirting away. Now I brew my coffee at home and make it strong! I am also a lot older than I was back then. I have been sitting on this photo for about a month and will admit after seeing ads for the Friends reunion that I knew I had to post this…finally.

Before I knew the title of the Bard Queen’s Quest, which happens to be The Language of Birds, I was inspired by this tree to take a bird themed photo. It also gave me an excuse to wear a pretty dress and accessories. Now the faire doesn’t last too much longer so if you want to get questing you better get hopping!
It is funny that not too long ago I was sitting listening to the birds chirping one morning while I was sipping my coffee and I was wondering what the birds were going on about. It sounded like a very interesting conversation was being had.\
Long ago in a small village lived a kind old lady named Ethel. Ethel spent most of her days tending to the garden she loved. She carefully weeded, watered and even talked to her plants. She had once heard it makes them grow much better.
Ethel always paid special attention to her tomato plants as she would use them to make the best sauce in town, canning some for all the neighbors. One morning Ethel went out to the garden ready to harvest her goodies when a little voice piped up from the near the tomatoes, “Good Morning Miss Ethel”, the little voice cried. Well Ethel looked over to the tomatoes and imagine the shock when she spied a little tomato staring up at her. She walked over and gently lifted him to her shoulder.
Well there was no way she could eat this little fellow, so instead of becoming a lovely jar of tomato sauce to save for the winter he became her new best friend and together they lived happily ever after in her little cottage.
I have been trying to write this post for a couple of days now, but my non-digital life has gotten in the way! As you have probably seen I have posted about some of the regions and some of the shopping that can be had, but today I am going to focus on other things.
Last weekend I brought my friend Lex to the fair, for what I think was his first time. We started in Featherfall and well I can’t exactly quote what he said because there were some four letter words involved, but they were used in awe.
While we were wandering we ran into this amazingly kind and awesome looking pirate. He was kind enough to let me take a picture of myself with him. I may have tried to snag a slug of rum while passing by at one point.
I took in a show during the week, this is from a dance about an Irish pirate woman. There were more dances performed by the Oasis Dancers, but if I added pictures of each one I would run out of space (not really, but you know what I mean).
I finished off the week by starting the Bard Queen’s Quest. I have only done the first half so far, but I can’t wait to finish and find the treasures at the end. The Faire doesn’t stop today. there is still the quest to finish, shopping to be had, and if you hurry a silent auction to bid on and all sorts of other fun things. So what are you waiting for?!!?!?!?
PS. I didn’t notice till now that Lex wasn’t fully rezzed…sorry!
In the middle of the forest where the fawns graze is Lillemor the centaur. She takes in all the abandoned and orphaned fawn of the forest. She is their mother and protector.
I got the idea for a protector after watching a video of humans rescuing orphaned fawns. Okay it was also an excuse to dress up as a doe centaur and to not wear clothes. But look how cute I am with my rosy cheeks, horns and green eyes.
I can’t fib, the whole time I was was taking this picture I was thinking of the song from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, you know the Disney version, when she sings at the well. I mean it seems fitting that someone with scales and a horn would be wishing to find someone who would love her. I mean it’s not every person you find with kirin scales and a unicorn horn. At least she isn’t in rags like Snow White, she is in a totally color coordinated gown! I mean it looks like it was meant to go with the scales (ignore the fact that there is a HUD that allows you to select colors).
Do I look like a fierce Valkyrie? Well even if I don’t look too fierce I am loving my Valkyrie self, even as a blond! I could do some serious damage with my bow and arrow I think.
Shhh don’t let anyone know that I am all talk and very little actual Valkyrie action. I am a lover not a fighter after all. I think it is time for me to return to Valhalla (the region at the Fairelands) and see what kind of shenanigans I can get up to.
Today my friends I will show you some of the locations within the Fairelands, not all mind you, just a few. Think of it as a little teaser. I went out on my explorations with Mr. Bearnard Bear, because no one should adventure alone. We made sure that we had some handy potions with us, just in case. I mean you never know who or what you may cross paths with in these regions. Our first stop was to the Fairelands Junction. I always love to see the wee Worldlings that live there, some I even want to move into!
Next our adventures took us to Tempest Bay. Here be pirates…I think. We saw their ships, but we didn’t see any at the time. I think they were busy plundering or something.
We wandered into Featherfall where we were very very careful. Neither one of us wanted to be the one to cause the world to unravel. When you visit there use extreme caution so that you don’t trip and pull a thread loose!
We got a little turned around at one point and asked these fairies for a little help. Unfortunately they were too busy flittering about to be much help. Eventually we got ourselves turned ‘round the right way and off we went.
I noticed the Queen when Bearnard and I were in J’adoube and thought I had a passing resemblance to her. What do you think? Bernard thought I was being silly, but what do bears know anyway.
After traveling all day Bearnard and I finally made it to Valhalla! It just worked out that the last region we ended in happened to be Valhalla, but it was very fitting!
I am gearing up for Fantasy Faire by channeling my inner elf again. I have so many ideas that I may have to do more posts than usual! If you are needing a little fantasy fix before the fair starts you can head to Chronicles and Legends and pick up a few items to wear when wandering the faire.
I have been going through my inventory lately and sorting all the things in all the various folders. I have one that is labeled “to blog” it is filled with items that inspired me to photo/post about them. The sad truth is that sometimes other things come up, mostly in my non-digital life, that cause me to forget about all these treasures. I am hoping to get to them now though! This happens to be one of those treasures and I bought it because it totally gave me Bond Girl vibes. Now who is going to be my James Bond? And volunteers?
