When you have little legs walking around the fairlands can be exhausting so Miss Wally decided to hop in her cute little car for a jaunt. Being the responsible kitty she is, she made sure she was wearing her big sun hat to prevent a furry sun burn. Now you may be looking at Miss Wally and asking yourself why does she have a man’s name, well that is because Wally is short for Walnut and she was styled after a very infamous kitty. Just wait till the end to meet the real Wally.
After all the exploring Miss Wally was very tired so she chose her favorite spot in the house to curl up for a little nap. And while I was attempting to get her to look at me for a photo she had her own thoughts on the subject, as kitties are want to do.
With the start of Fantasy Faire on Thursday it is time for the return of the What the Faire record. Today we will be looking at some of the sims of the fairelands, at least some little bits of the sims. Starting with Junction, which it wasn’t till I got above it, following the path, that I realized I was underwater. I may be a little slow sometimes.
I have a certain routine when it comes to the faire, I always look at the Worldlings first. It’s just become part of how I do things. Here you see me underwater trying to follow the signpost.
A little peek at a few of the worldlings, some may have been works in progress when I snapped these, but they are still amazing and I would willingly move into them if allowed. If you see my trying to live in one, be cool! After my worldling adventures it was time to travel to the first sim. Can I remember which one I went to first, not at all. Should I have written it down, absolutely. Will I remember to do so next year, I am going with No!
If anyone wants to propose to their significant other my suggestion would be the bridge behind this statue. It is gorgeous and romantic and were a gentleman to offer me a rose on said bridge I may swoon.
You never know what you will find around any given corner when walking the fairelands so make sure you are looking all around!
When I saw these mushrooms I was thinking about going all “Alice in Wonderland” on them and have a little bite. However the ichor dripping off of them make me think twice. You would think it oily pools surrounding them would be a good indicator, but of course not.
I tried asking these cats for some guidance through the fairelands, but they said something about payment and I did not have anything cat friendly on my person at the time. Maybe if you come across them you will have some catnip or salmon you can share with them. I wandered off and somehow found myself in a hedge maze.
I recommend if you do venture into the hedge maze, make sure you leave yourself a trail of breadcrumbs or use a ball of string in case you get lost. I may have been trapped in there longer than I can to admit. It was a very trying time for myself so…
…once I was out I was seriously considering doing a full on face plant into this chocolate fountain as a reward for getting free. I did not, because that wouldn’t be classy and I pretend to be classy…sometimes.
I think I must have been tired when I saw this sign what meandering because I thought it said “Shopping Challenge”. I got really excited thinking there was a new event happening, sadly there is not, well at least not an officially sanctioned one.
This sim was giving me final girl in a horror movie, but that could just be the lighting. It could also be more of one of those cute places in some mountain area where families spend a week or so on a summer vacation. There was a cute lake and everything.
This sim I remember the name of! It was Meloona, which I kept mentally referring to as melanoma, in my defense I was high as a kite when wandering through here. Don’t judge, I wrecked my body that day and needed some relief. Anyway this sim gave me serious “Honey I Shrunk the Avatar” vibes. I also learned that worms are a lot cuter when they have eyeballs and/or cute faces. The pink worm made me think of fingers rising from the ground.
I was thinking of taking a dip in the watermelon pond, but it looked a little…dicey. Yes that was a terrible pun and I have zero regrets!
It took me a wile to realize that when you walk through the foliage on this sim (again I forgot to note what sims I was in)it light up! Of course since I was in an elevated state I was wandered through the foliage for quite some time before I was able to refocus myself.
The sky here was so cool! As I was walking through the sim I felt like I was being watched.
I have no idea what I was feeling so watched, but it’s fine, I am sure it’s just my imagination. Now these are just little peeks at the various sims. I am not the most skilled landscape photographer so if you would like to see more photos of the sims and other Fantasy Faire events just out the flickr group and the official Fantasy Faire website
One peek at the calendar would reveal the real kind of gardening I am talking about today. IYKYK. Please forgive me for that, I was being energy efficient and didn’t feel like typing it all out. It may also be an excuse to look cute and make vague marijuana references.
I may look like I am baked while planting my little plants and that doesn’t sound like a bad idea to be honest. I do need to remove A LOT of lily of the valley from the front yard, so that may make it a little more enjoyable. I do have some little flower seedlings that will hopefully be transplanted into my front yard in a month or so. Okay time to get ready for Fantasy Faire opening later this week. Can we tell I am excited, just look at those ears!
Today is the perfect day for this post. I may not have a field of flowers, and the butterflies may still be…wherever butterflies go in the winter, but the sun is out and I am not bundled up! It’s so nice to be able to open the windows and let the fresh air in, I have missed it very much.
And while I may not be able to get butterflies to land on me, I am plotting my own butterfly garden in the non-digital world this year. Who knows maybe I am secretly harboring a green thumb. Don’t laugh, it could happen!
And if it doesn’t there are always beautiful places in Second Life I can visit to make my pollinator friendly dreams come true!
The time had come for me to pack up my adventuring kit and start my trek to The Fantasy Faire! The Fairelands open on the 23rd of April and I can’t wait for it. Fantasy Faire always feels like a crazy and chaotic family reunion. It’s also a time where I get to be whatever sort of creature I like, mermaid, elf, fairy, some hideous thing from your nightmares, you know all the best things.
To be honest it is a long messy trek to get there, and I am not made for long distance traveling outdoors. I am more of a hotel and hot showers kind of gal. I would do almost anything to get to the fairelands.
I do promise I will be cleaned up and smelling lovely before I enter the fairelands. I would hate to offend anyone’s sense of smell.
The idea of happy hour sounds good, until you realize you have to hang out with the people you see at work all day and you don’t get to go home. Don’t get me wrong, I like hanging out with people, but I might just enjoy being at home more.
Watching the sun set with a cocktail in hand just sounds relaxing after a long day to me. In fact last night I watched the sun set, while I was making dinner, with a lovely cocktail in my hand. It may not have been as fancy as the one here, but it hit the spot! Now onto the credits.
When I saw these eyes at We ❤ Roleplay I knew I needed to get them to go with my lamia tail. I had recently spotted it in my inventory while doing a big sort and purge and the snake-like tail just seemed to perfect. I was going to go for a little less dark of a look for my second post, but well once I read about Lamia (the Greek story) my dark little heart was tickled. Not that I am all for women cursing other women because their man couldn’t keep it in their pants, or that I am prone to eating children…and I forgot where I was going with that.
Hey look snake eyes, and not the dice kind either. Here I am emerging from my hideaway in the forest. Since the weather is sunny and warmer it’s the perfect time to hunt for lost and lonely hikers. I figure it’s more fun to pick them off than children. I do have a heart after all.
A phoenix seemed like a good idea for a return post. Yes it’s been over a year since I posted, but that is because the universe decided my real life needed a little shaking up. It’s taken me some time to find me my footing again, but I am back!
I was going to say something about my old life kissing my ass, but to be honest I just wanted to add a gratuitous booty shot to my first post. I mean it’s not full booty, it’s more like a peek-a-booty. I wanted something that felt like a phoenix rising from the ashes, but make it a bit glam, hence the shiny dress and black and red color scheme. I know phoenixes are usually represented with reds, oranges and yellows, but like I said It’s more a mix of fire and ashes.
Don’t worry, the changes in my real life have only made me better, but maybe with a little more cynicism? I do wear a ring every day that has a phoenix on it, and inscribed on the band is the phrase “strong as fuck,” and that is my daily reminder, so just remember you too are strong as fuck no matter what life may be throwing at you right now! Onto the credits!
You may be looking at me and thinking “Hey that looks like an emo cupid”, and you wouldn’t be too far off the mark, I guess. You see I am sort of the anti-cupid. It’s not that I am against love or anything like that. I am more of Cupid’s cleaner. You see sometimes he gets a little overzealous in his match making and puts together people that DO NOT belong together. You will hear humans refer to it as “falling out of love”, but really, it’s just me correcting Cupid’s mistakes. I would say Cupid is only human and prone to mistakes like all humans, but since he’s not, that excuse doesn’t fly. Unlike Cupid himself who does. Sorry that was a terrible demi-goddess joke.
Hopefully I will never see any of you, since you will never see me when I am on Earth.
If you were to shower me with gifts this Valentine’s Day I would tell you books are best. Chocolate doesn’t last and flowers will die, but a good book will live on. Also I just enjoy curling up in a cozy corner and reading. I have even been known to put in my earbuds and listen to some ambient noise to pretend I am reading on a boat. I may be strange, but that is a okay.
So if your significant other is a book lover maybe create a cozy little nook and fill it with books and their favorite cozy beverage of choice…oh and snacks DO NOT forget the snacks! You may not be able to give them a whole library ( thanks Disney for setting that standard), but a book nook would be a very close second. Even though Valentine’s Day has passed just know that I love all of you and you should love yourself too!
