The Most Faire-tastic Time of the Year!

I feel like I need a little hearld to bring forth the news that the Fantasy Faire is mere days away from opening. While I don’t have a herald (do places still have them?), I do have flamingos. Panic Flamingos to be exact and I have been following them waiting for the portals to the fairelands to open.

The two large flamingos are Panic Flamingos for those participating in the faire in some way. The little fellas are just following their elders and I am flying along right behind them all trying to get through the portal. It won’t be open till the 20th though so I guess we have to wait. On the plus side if you want to mark your calendar with Faireland classes, shows, parties and other shenanigans you can head on over to the Official Page!

What would a post be without a good look…down my dress it seems. Ignore that and just take in the magical floral fairy happily longing to return to the fairegrounds. I wonder how many magical personalities I will cycle through this year!

Cold Outside

Christmas may be over, but that doesn’t mean that winter is over, not even close (well at least here in the northern hemisphere). In fact it’s freezing cold here in the south, literally. Luckily where I live we don’t get snow or else no one would know what to do!

Warm blankets, a roaring fire (that is not what I am called when mad, I swear) and some battery powered lights can create a cozy little feeling when the snow is falling and the power is out. If one has to get snowed in in a remote cabin being stuck there with someone you love can make it at least a little more fun.

While it may look like we are headless, I assure you we are just bundled up nice and warm. I mean maybe later things will look a little different when we explore other ways to stay warm, but for now blankets and a warm fire will have to suffice.

Yes I am back yet again. It seems like just when I start to get back to things something comes up and knocks me back a few steps. This time it was Covid. I got walloped hard by it and am still waiting to get my sense of taste back. For the record not being able to taste things is the worst diet trick ever! And if that wasn’t enough I had house guests right afterwards! So right now I am feeling like answering every request for my time with a resounding “Nope!”

As you can see from my top I am all about the nope right now. That and sloths are cool.

Don’t Eat My House!

Now I am no witch, but I do have a gingerbread house. What you never thought about living in a giant cookie? Sure there are issues in the summer with the heat and all,  but in the winter it is a dream. Whenever the fire is going the house smells amazing! Sure every once in a while I have to chase off a child who thinks my house is just a snack, but that happens much less often now. Okay maybe chasing kids off is how I got the reputation of being a witch, but I swear on my little gingerbread friends life I have never and will never eat any children, not even sugar babies (they are gross).

Easter Leftovers

The morning after most holidays means leftovers around here. I learned from my mother that pie is a perfectly acceptable breakfast, she is partial to apple pie. Personally I think I will stick to my fruit and coffee. Especially the coffee! I have so much I need and want to get done that I think an IV drip of caffeine wouldn’t go amiss. It’s April which means the Fantasy Faire is right around the corner, my favorite even of the year. So be prepared for some fantastical creatures and looks coming soon.
