This past weekend I crossed the Florida Georgia line to head to a wedding and of course it made me think of this song so it became the theme of this post. Oh you don’t know the song? Well click this link to have a listen. I however was not in some south Georgia water, just some lovely SL water.
Everyone knows that after a swim you need to have some ice cream, mostly because I try to save my drinking for later in the day, unless it’s a mimosa, or…well I don’t need to get into every reason for day drinking. Just a heads up I may be taking a break till October because I will be getting hand surgery next week and who knows how well I will function.
I don’t know about you but I could use a vacation right about now. I wish I could say that my spans between posts is because I have been doing something fun like having a vacation, but sadly that is not the case. The truth is that posts will probably be spaced out a ways because my hands are not playing nice at the moment. I have carpal tunnel in both hands, some days one hand is better than the other and other days both of them are useless pain monsters. Not to fret they are getting doctor treatment, but till they are all happy again thing like typing and mouse control are a bit hard.
Anyway, when I first put this dress on I was going to do a whole Mrs. Potts in her younger years thing, you know pre-kids and pre-curse, but things didn’t go as planned. Why Mrs. Potts you ask?
It’s the corset part of this dress really. The blue and white just reminds me of a beautiful classic teapot, and well my train of thought went to Disney and Mrs. Potts. There was some logic in my train of thought. I will leave you with the credits. Till next time!
I promise the Barbie blond and pink combination will be out of my system with this last post. In all fairness it was supposed to be posted two weeks ago, but someone took a spill and hurt themselves. Graceful I am not, so here we are two weeks late with my final Barbie inspired look.
Blond hair and pink are not my favorite things if we are being honest. In my non-digital life my hair is usually a shade of purple or a berry red color, never blond. And well I haven’t been a fan of pink since primary school (nope not telling you how long ago that was). Anyway here I am with my vacant Barbie stare. See ya later!
That’s right my theme of Barbie continues today with a less than kid friendly Barbie. Though now that I think about it some of the Barbies my youngest used to play with did have some “adult” beverages included, at least it looked like that to me. Hmmmm…
This Barbie look it supposed to remind you of a 90’s grunge look, but maybe it’s just what I vaguely remember wearing in high school, minus the bottle of wine and cigarette. Okay to be fair I still wear ripped jean and boots on occasion and drink legally, but that is not the point. Oh hey look another picture!
I am going to stop rambling for today because it’s totally disjointed. I blame my cat for ruining my second cup of coffee by sticking her paw in it (it wasn’t hot anymore anyway).
I know I am back and dressed in pink and with blonde hair, but with the Barbie movie coming out this week how could I resist?
I based this look very loosely off the previews from the movie and from the 90’s rollerblading Barbie doll. In my head Barbie is just casually rollerblading on the boardwalk when she gets thirsty and stops for a nice refreshing strawberry milk. Listen she likes pink and milk does a body good or something like that. Only this milk tastes funny to Barbie!
Oh my goodness it’s rice milk! In my mind Barbie has never had rice milk because well Barbie can do anything, like consume lactose. So of course a non-dairy alternative to milk would come as a complete shock to her. I know it’s silly, but that is what I aim to do, make you laugh. Happy Monday everyone!
Allow me to introduce you to the most fungi lady to grace the pages of this blog, Lady Amanita. She is a little put out that she wasn’t invited to the big event today, but she was quite pleased with her place among the flowers. At least she was until the pollen started to bother her. Fungal spores are no issue, but when the flowers start shooting pollen all over she just can not take it. They did provide cover to watch the festivities, so it wasn’t a total loss.
After the festivities she took a little promenade in the gardens to soak up the warm rays of sunshine. That is the story she told me, but I think it’s more likely she was trying to show off her fabulous look. Only ladies wear pearls according to Lady A, but I am not sold on that. I have been known to wear pearls and I am no lady.
During my first week of the faire I had some fun adventures and even made up my own little game. I call it “Creators in the Wilds”, which basically means that I tried to photo any faire creators while they were out and about on the fairelands. It’s not as easy as it sounds because all games have rules. The rules for my game are…
No Photos without permission
No photos taken at events (this would make it too easy)
Maybe next year I will change it up and do selfies with creators, though that may be more intrusive.
As a special bonus I got a faire minister too!
I also hit up a few events during the week as well, you know when my non-digital life would allow it. I attended a lecture or lesson, whatever you want to call it about the mythos of centaurs. It was really enlightening, and I learned that Chiron was the centaur equivalent of Yoda (at least that is how my brain linked them).
There was some dancing on the Fairechylde, which I enticed a friend to join me at. I also got called out for my tendency to like even numbers in the RFL kiosks. I can’t help it, it’s one of the quirks that make me well me.
I went to see some shows too, there was a particle dance that had audience participation.
Another dance to classical music
A merballet
And finally the Jail and Bail of Alia with the bus ride of doom afterwards. If you have even been on a post bail bus ride you understand.
And fret not, the quest will have its own post…as soon as I finish it.
Yesterday I was a Sun Goddess and today we are channeling the night sky. The tattoo may be the moon goddess one, but I couldn’t choose between the moon and the stars so I went with both. Maybe she is in charge of the new stars in the sky that create the constellations. One of which I learned about during a lecture, talk, history lesson, whatever you want to call it during the faire. I will talk about that in my weekly round up post probably tomorrow. For today how about a closer look at that tattoo ( I went halo-less this time)
I think if I had to choose between releasing the sun and hanging the stars I would choose the stars. The sun doesn’t really change all that often but stars, those are more every changing and in constant flux so your job would never be the same. Granted I am not well versed in all the celestial bodies and could be speaking out my bum. Either way I would make a fabulous star sticker outer and even more so if I looked like this!
It’s funny that I am channeling my inner sun goddess given my love/hate relationship with it. In the non-digital world I am so pale I glow in the sunlight and burn easier than something that burns easily. That being said I could not resist the tattoo and halo combo.
Who wouldn’t want to look this glowing and fabulous? It paired really nicely with an outfit I already had in my inventory so that was a bonus for me. It means that I have all the more to be able to drop into the RFL kiosks all over the fairelands. Since it would be weird to have the day without the night, there will be a post featuring the moon following this one, I mean not right away, but maybe later today…after the sun sets!
I am going to start by showcasing the most talked about cow in all the fairelands and then moooove onto my adventures. Sorry I couldn’t pass up the chance at that pun. Now when I arrived at Fairelands Junction I followed the path to see the Worldlings since they are one of my favorite things. I have plans for a special photo with those later so stay tuned. I think I wandered counter clockwise as my faire alter ego of the day Emogene the Emo Elf.
As I was wandering I came across a bunch of dragon hatchlings, but I wasn’t about to stick around to see if the mama or papa would be returning soon. I didn’t want to be dragon chow before the faire really got going!
I continued on my way, and as I wandered I decided to play a special game. It was called “How many times can I mess up?”, and I decided to count the number of times I got lost, crashed, or just fell through things. For the record I was there for blogger day which is before the faire opens to everyone so there were growing pains that caused falling into spaces (only 4 times!) Now some fairelands are not for the faint of heart, or being high as a kite. I had surgery on my hip a little over a week ago so pain meds are my friends.
You can see how something like this would mess with your head. It still freaks me out a little if I am being honest. Now when I was at the fair there were a few sims that were still dressing and asked for no photos and I had to respect their wishes so there are some sims that will be a complete surprise. Then again so will these since I didn’t tell you which ones they are. Think of it as a special little scavenger hunt to keep you entertained as you shop and wait for the quest to begin!
There is one sim that has a genie and man that one was giving me issues. I am pretty sure the genie cursed my computer because every time I tried to get a photo of him my computer would glitch and crash (total number of cursed crashes 5). So I cheated and used a different computer and got a picture and then everything was fine. For the record it was an issue with my computer and not the sim.
You didn’t think I would not post a picture of the genie did you? After completing my battle with the genie I adventured onwards some more. I only got lost a three times which I think is a record low for me. Yes there are paths you can follow so you doing get lost, but I am likely to get distracted by anything that catches my eye and I wander off the path. A big bad wolf would have a field day with me, luckily I didn’t run into any of them…yet.
I don’t know what this fairy was going through, but man I was starting to feel her. As I stated earlier I had hip surgery recently so getting tuckered out is easy to do. Next week I will have a full round up of all the things I have done during the first week of the faire so stay tuned for that. Oh and let me know if you spot any of the places from my photos!
