Mornings with Mozart

The hardest part of any morning for me, aside from the whole getting out of bed thing, is waiting for the coffee to brew. I am a creature of habit and have a very certain morning routine that a friend called pretentious, I listen to Mozart while I have my coffee. For a while it was just Mozart, but I have branched out and now just listen to symphony playlists in the morning.

Once I have coffee in hand I give the cats their morning treats, they have a routine too I guess, and then I head to my office of chaos for music and list making. Gotta make sure I plan ahead before I start hitting up all the events and fairs and what not. Off to get back to my day, enjoy the credits!

I am one of those people who loves to find, or make, the perfect gift for people. And I am one of those people that shops year round so that by the time Christmas rolls around I have a mini stockpile of gifts. This tends to look like overkill to some.

And I will occasionally forget a gift or two need to add it to the pile quickly. Listen it’s not my fault I am forgetful and shop year round. There have been times that I have found Christmas presents in my closet months after. In my defense they were video game themed socks so they weren’t something “big”.

Now we are ready to kick off this holiday, not that we weren’t before. Now time to spread some holiday cheer with gifts and to make some cookies too!

This year for Christmas I was a busy lady between sewing some things and Cricut-ing others. I can’t actually name what I made here because I don’t want the recipient to know what is coming their way. Honestly I wish I was this organized in my office/crafting space, but it currently looks like a mini tornado hit. I am the creator of all the chaos, but that is besides the point.

A crafters work is never done though so its wrapping time and look at the beautiful bow we will all pretend I made. I have more holiday posts in the works, and hopefully I can get them done before Christmas is over. And if I don’t, well then Merry Happy Whatever You Celebrate!

Ironically I took these pictures before I had to leave my house due to an impending hurricane back in the beginning of October. Luckily we didn’t have any damage but spending so much time in the car I am off road trips for a while! And hurricanes, but I have more control over the road trips than the weather.

I am sure there are some quotes out there about weathering a storm or something but today is not the day to go searching for that. I will however tell you to live every moment to its fullest because you never know when a storm will hit (I mean a proverbial storm not the predictable weather type).

Fairy Godmother

This fairy godmother is straight out of a book…literally. Hopefully her spells are better and longer lasting that a certain bippity boppity boo-er, because if I am at a big party and my timer is up at midnight you know you need to be out of there at least an hour early so you don’t turn into some disheveled mess (you know my everyday look). Whish means party time is over by 11 pm at the latest and who wants to leave that early?

She does have very mesmerizing eyes though, maybe that is how she can convince someone to hang out at a ball till the very last moment possible. And make her think that glass footwear for dancing is a really goo idea. I mean new shoes can cause blisters as it is, but how did they survive running down stairs in the first place? Hopefully my fairy godmother is a little more logical.

Every once in a while I decide to sort the chaos that is my inventory and I end up styling a look I just have to share. This is one of those times. Did any one else just read that in the “Law & Order” voice? Just me? That’s cool. Anyway I was playing with the blazer and trying to figure out what would look good under it when I saw the corset and well the rest as they say is history. I shoved the photos off to my silent partner to edit to his hearts desire so if you don’t like them it’s his fault. I am only kidding, don’t blame him!

If it weren’t for the wedding ring I would say I look like the main character from a Hallmark movie about a busy city girl trying to find love in the fall. I am none of those things though so…yeah.

The Witches – Earth Witch

While I may see a lot of three-person witch poses (think Charmed and the power of three) I wanted to go for more of a The Craft vibe with the four directions/four elements. Today being the first of the four with my Earth Witch look. I wanted a more modern look for my witches, which is why she doesn’t look like the kind you would have found at the witch trials in Salem.

What I did forget was that my witch doesn’t have a familiar with her. I was trying to think of what sort of animal would be helpful to an earth witch. In the book I am currently reading the earth witch has a crow for a familiar and while a crow would be a very dark and appropriate it seems it would be better for an air witch, what with it flying and all. I was thinking maybe a scorpion or a snake. I think a snake would be better, and potentially just as deadly as a scorpion depending on the snake.

This past weekend I crossed the Florida Georgia line to head to a wedding and of course it made me think of this song so it became the theme of this post. Oh you don’t know the song? Well click this link to have a listen. I however was not in some south Georgia water, just some lovely SL water.

Everyone knows that after a swim you need to have some ice cream, mostly because I try to save my drinking for later in the day, unless it’s a mimosa, or…well I don’t need to get into every reason for day drinking. Just a heads up I may be taking a break till October because I will be getting hand surgery next week and who knows how well I will function.

One More Time

I promise the Barbie blond and pink combination will be out of my system with this last post. In all fairness it was supposed to be posted two weeks ago, but someone took a spill and hurt themselves. Graceful I am not, so here we are two weeks late with my final Barbie inspired look.

Blond hair and pink are not my favorite things if we are being honest. In my non-digital life my hair is usually a shade of purple or a berry red color, never blond. And well I haven’t been a fan of pink since primary school (nope not telling you how long ago that was). Anyway here I am with my vacant Barbie stare. See ya later!
