I know, I know I have been very quiet lately. I have been so overwhelmed with my non-digital life that I don’t know where to start. I haven’t been slacking though I swear. I have a bunch of ideas and photos to get to so yay! Right now I would love nothing more than to hide from my non-digital life and when I saw this mouth tape thing one weekend I knew I needed it.

I mean honestly who wouldn’t want to tell reality to take a flying leap? Also you can tell I am not feeling myself because there is an abundance of pink in this post! I think I took a ton of picture when wearing this look because I was loving the way the light was reflecting(?) off the lenses of the glasses. Of course they went clear when I got all up in my face. I shall leave you with the credits for now as I get back to work on all these ideas.

Today I am waking up and choosing violence! Not in my non-digital life though, I am way too soft to survive prison. I think my look is what would happen if Zeus somehow managed to reproduce with a storm cloud. I don’t know, that god seems to let his freak flag fly. I think if there was a way to *ahem* fornicate with cloud he would find it. I may still be high from last night at this point hence the Greek god ramble.

Oooh look shiny! I wonder what kind of chaos I could create with a little ball of energy like this. Oh the possibilities…

Feigned Innocence

I have been told that no one really believes that I am sweet and innocent. Everyone seems to be able to agree to the sweet part (boy do I have them fooled), but no one seems to think I am innocent. I mean just because I might look like I have a secret side doesn’t mean I do!

Could someone who takes such awkward pictures not be innocent? I don’t know where I am going with any of this as I am writing it late on Sunday and my brain has taken the weekend off. I think the point of this post was that I am sweet, innocent and my favorite color is yellow if you couldn’t guess that bit.

Or maybe it is more of a divine bovine? Yes I know it’s been three months since I have posted. It was an unplanned summer break. During my break I spent some time with family and sort of recharged my creative energies. That is not the point though, the point here is I just really wanted to make a post about this pun/wordplay thing that made me chuckle while I was herbally infused. Here is a better look at my face so you can see the bovine beauty in all it’s glory.

The only cute part of my cow self is my tail. It sort of had a mind of it’s own flicking this way and that. Oh well at least you can see my ears and adorable nubby horns.

WTF Record – Edition Two

My hunt for the elusive wootberry syrup continues. Of course, someone out there in the fairelands is trying to stop me with wicked distraction techniques! The quest began this week so of course I had to do that, but I didn’t take any pictures because I accidentally took pictures of some quest related things already, ooops.

Then there were stage shows to see, like these cheerleaders!

And the jail and bailing of the infamous Alia Baroque. I wasn’t able to snap pictures of both exclusive skins, I got one and some of the fairelanders in attendance before the King of Crash hit my computer (I took it as a sign to let someone else in to get one or both of the skins). I think he ate some photos as an appetizer! That means I have no idea if the dragon awoke or got to continue sleeping and probably missed out on the bus ride of chaos.

After all the distractions I got back to my search for the Basement Kitteh Gang. Thinking I needed to up my disguise game I went deeeeep undercover as a kitty myself. While I didn’t find the gang I may have stumbled upon a clue!

Why I Relay…

     During the Faire a few years ago I shared why I relay. It was the year my dad got diagnosed with cancer. That was over two years ago now. At the time he was given six to twelve months,but he obviously beat those odds. That year we were measuring things in “lasts”. Like his last birthday, last Father’s Day etc. Then he passed the one year mark and we all held our breath knowing we were on borrowed time. There were ups and downs and more rallies than I can count. We reached the two year mark this January and there have been a lot more downs than there have been ups. As I am writing this (a few weeks before the Faire starts) things have changed dramatically. He is now receiving home hospice care, a hospital bed is being delivered today and my siblings (one who used to be a hospice nurse) have given him about two weeks. I mean it’s not the first time he’s been given only a couple of weeks, but this time it feels different. My heart is aching because I can’t be there for my mom who is slowly watching the person she has spent over fifty years married to slowly fade away. It aches to not be there to tell my dad that as much as I don’t want him to go it’s okay to let go, we will take care of mom and be there for her. I relay so no other family needs to watch loved ones leave this world in pain, a shadow of their former selves. So no wife,husband,mother or father needs to say goodbye to a loved one way before their time. I relay because I love. 

My sister was close, it was 10 days after writing all that he moved on to his next adventure and I suddenly felt lost on my current one. When I got the call the world seemed to dim and everything went quiet.

Fish, Chips and Call the Midwife

Recently I have been re-binge-watching Call the Midwife, mostly because I forgot where I had left of and decided to start over again. It reminded me that I had this look lurking in my outfits folder for a while. You see when I was sorting my inventory at some point I put this dress on and I thought it made me look pregnant, but pregnant in the 60’s. Now the Call the Midwife memory jog makes sense if you have ever seen the show.

Since the show takes place in England I thought fish and chips would be the perfect pregnancy craving. Maybe not the healthiest, but way more normal than some other cravings I have heard about. Ironically when I was pregnant in my non-digital life I craved certain things which ended up being some of my kids favorite foods. My first kiddo LOVES Reece’s peanut butter cups and Reece’s Pieces, while pregnant with them I always wanted a sundae with those toppings. With my second it was peach iced tea and Apple Jacks cereal, both of which that kid LOVES. Has that been the case with anyone else out there? Enough of my non-digital prattle, onto the credits!

Mushroom Afternoon

One must wear only the finest of hats when foraging to find a cache of mushrooms and apples. Of course taking a break and having a little read before popping off for another look see never hurt a person. Lets me fair nothing beats the feel of lush green grass on your feet. This does of course mean that your feet get a touch dirty, but I assure you it washes away quite easily.

One must never go adventuring in this day and age without a way to communicate should an emergency arise. Or to check out the latest tea being spilled by friends and foes alike. Not that I would do such a thing on my phone, nor do I assume you do either.

Not Ready to Say Goodbye

We got a little sneak peek at the cold winter we are to expect here in the south last week and let me say it makes me want to hold tight to fall (I mean I do have a little bit till it’s officially winter). I will however happily trade pumpkin spice lattes for peppermint mochas. Of course, I don’t have to miss out on seeing geese because in theory because this is the south they fly to in the winter. I have already seen a flock by the pond near my home.

Family Secrets

Imagine you are in a Hallmark movie and the whole idea is you get these letters from your great grandmother and must learn the family secret. I will admit I am a Hallmark Christmas movie watcher. They are cheesy and predictable and make for a festive background sound when I am working in my office in my non-digital life.  I have another post in the works about things these movies have made me think about Christmas. I will admit for years I thought there was a family secret in my family too, but it turns out I was wrong.
