Croissant and the City

Do you remember when the round croissant was the MUST HAVE breakfast treat for insta photos such? It wasn’t that long ago right? Well Here I am in the city with a latte and my round croissant. When I was in NYC last June I went to an Italian bakery and they had croissant cubes! Of course I had to get one because, just because it was too cool not to, and I love carbs so it was a win-win for me. I wish I had taken a picture before I dove into it. It was raspberry filled and just magical.

I am pretty sure that if chocolate had been an available cube flavor I would have taken that one back to the hotel too! I wish I looked this fabulous when my non-digital bum was in the city. I however was in shorts and sneakers since it was summer. Maybe next time. Anyway if you have a chance to eat a non-traditional shaped croissant I say do it! Heck even “normal” croissants need to be eaten. I may just be hungry at this point so credits for you and food for me.

Mushroom Afternoon

One must wear only the finest of hats when foraging to find a cache of mushrooms and apples. Of course taking a break and having a little read before popping off for another look see never hurt a person. Lets me fair nothing beats the feel of lush green grass on your feet. This does of course mean that your feet get a touch dirty, but I assure you it washes away quite easily.

One must never go adventuring in this day and age without a way to communicate should an emergency arise. Or to check out the latest tea being spilled by friends and foes alike. Not that I would do such a thing on my phone, nor do I assume you do either.

Neverland Fight Club

The first rule of Neverland fight club is you don’t talk about it, but if someone does Enforcer Tink is on duty. Now I am not saying she is brutal with that bat, but I am also not saying she isn’t. I have a feeling she got me one night after taking these photos because I woke up to a mysterious bruise on my arm (I do have a random bruise in my non-digital life that I can remember getting). For someone so small and seemingly delicate she can go HARD with that bat!

Needless to say I think I messed up and now she is here to mess me up. Does peter know about this? Is it Pan sanctioned? Is it something she does with the pirates on Captain Hook’s ship? I wasn’t able to get too many answers as I am currently in hiding from her menacing pixie presence!

As it is St. Patrick’s Day I figured I would skip the usual shamrocks and green and go for a little homage to an Irish pirate, Anne Bonny. A fierce red head who pillaged and plundered in the Caribbean. I admit I did not do much research on her, but she did make good inspiration for a post today and an excuse to dress like I pirate.

She may look pretty with her long red curls, but I assure you she would run you through with her sword given a reason. Or maybe that is just me when I am cranky? Either way enjoy your Sunday (or whatever day it is you read this)!

Not Ready to Say Goodbye

We got a little sneak peek at the cold winter we are to expect here in the south last week and let me say it makes me want to hold tight to fall (I mean I do have a little bit till it’s officially winter). I will however happily trade pumpkin spice lattes for peppermint mochas. Of course, I don’t have to miss out on seeing geese because in theory because this is the south they fly to in the winter. I have already seen a flock by the pond near my home.

Last but certainly not least we have our water witch. Coming up with a familiar for her was a bit more challenging. I mean a shark would be an awesome familiar to have, but you are a bit limited on how it would be able to help given that it needs a large body of salt water. Let’s be fair it basically eliminates all fish from the familiar equation, so we need to look at amphibians. That led me to the golden poison dart frog. Most people may not keep a poisonous frog as a pet, but I am sure a little spirit magic could mask it. Who wouldn’t want a beautiful but deadly familiar? Not to mention I happen to be a huge fan of poison dart frogs of every color.

Nightmare on Your Street

The real nightmare is my inventory currently. I swear just as I get it all cleaned and organized it’s a giant mess again. Oh well I will have plenty of time next month when I am laid up after surgery to give it a good going through. As I have mentioned before there are some things I see when out shopping and it just triggers an idea for a post. This time it was this sweater/skirt combo. It was giving me Freddy Krueger vibes, but you know if he were a lady. So I guess it’s more of a genderbent Freddy…a Freddi if you will. I don’t think being awake will save you from this nightmare.

I of course needed to make sure I was wearing a fedora and Freddy’s iconic scars. Okay I can start to see why maybe my inventory is a mess, but it’s totally worth it! I just realized my wedding ring is like POW right there. I am pretty sure Freddy wasn’t rocking the bling, but that is okay. Anyway I am off (not that way, but that way too) to create more chaos. Cold Outside

Christmas may be over, but that doesn’t mean that winter is over, not even close (well at least here in the northern hemisphere). In fact it’s freezing cold here in the south, literally. Luckily where I live we don’t get snow or else no one would know what to do!

Warm blankets, a roaring fire (that is not what I am called when mad, I swear) and some battery powered lights can create a cozy little feeling when the snow is falling and the power is out. If one has to get snowed in in a remote cabin being stuck there with someone you love can make it at least a little more fun.

While it may look like we are headless, I assure you we are just bundled up nice and warm. I mean maybe later things will look a little different when we explore other ways to stay warm, but for now blankets and a warm fire will have to suffice.

His Little Mermaid

For those of you who have followed me through my various blog iterations you might remember me doing a photo/story long ago about a man rescuing a mermaid. If not, well I once wrote a little tale about a man rescuing a mermaid, or at least he thought he was rescuing her. Even my own memories of it are vague at best. That however is neither here nor there, but what is relevant is the bathtub. You see when I saw this bathtub along with the mermaid tail applier I had flashbacks to those photos and I wanted to sort of recreate them.

Here is his little mermaid getting herself all cleaned up and properly hydrated in the bath. Some mermaids can walk on land because their tails will morph into legs, while others are forever finned. This little mermaid is forever finned in her purple scales.

She does have a friend who will happily blow bubbles in the bathtub with her, and other silly things too. But this isn’t about him and his ability to amuse a little mermaid, it’s all about her, and her bathtub.
